The first year of this major is only available to students enrolled at the Rockingham campus.

It has been specifically designed to offer maximum flexibility to students who are entering higher education and wish to experience several disciplines. It aims to provide students with a general education through an introduction to the Arts and intellectual study. The major requires students to spread their studies over four discipline areas, choosing from Community Development, Modern Social History, Australian Indigenous Studies and Sociology.

In the second and subsequent years students may select units available at the Rockingham campus, at the Murdoch campus or through external study. The course can not be completed by internal enrolment at Rockingham.
