Politics and International Studies are related fields of study which involve the critical evaluation of contemporary political issues.
Politics focuses on the examination of how power is distributed in society, how individuals and groups organise to change the distribution of power, and why governments vary in their stances on such issues as individual and minority rights, environmentalism, and economic rationalism.
The linked study of International Studies examines issues of globalisation -- including its impact on economic development -- and the relationships between global governance, nation-states, ethnic and regional communities.
