Independent Study Contracts in Philosophy

If you wish to develop a special interest in a topic that is not covered by our units or you want to study in depth a special aspect of a topic, approach a member of staff and discuss it with them with a view to submitting an application to take an independent study contract (ISC).

In case you prefer having an ISC credited towards your major in Philosophy rather than as a general elective, this must be approved by the Programme Committee. Please apply in writing to the Division Executive Officer.

Application forms, along with a booklet explaining independent study contracts, are available from the Division of Arts Office, and from Student Administration in the Chancellery Building.

Applications must be submitted at least four weeks prior to the start of the semester in which the contract is to be undertaken.
