As a graduate of the MA in Globalisation and Governance, you will have acquired the following knowledge:
- understanding of key debates regarding present and future roles, jurisdictions and competencies of different types of organisation in the public, private and voluntary sector;
- ability to evaluate different modes of governance in terms of key political attributes such as responsiveness, transparency, accountability, and democratic representativeness;
- awareness of the advantages and disadvantages of different modes of governance for achieving different types of outcome, in different issue areas characterised by different actors and constituencies;
- a particular familiarity with the way that these debates are being played out in the Asia-Pacific region.
An understanding of these issues will put you in a strong position to analyse and predict various types of policy outcomes, across a range of fields of social action.
We envisage that national and subnational governments; campaigning, advocacy and aid delivery organisations in the voluntary sector; and private companies with transnational dealings will increasingly require campaign and business planners, policy advisors and political analysts with these kinds of skills. |
